Groundswell Info Session @ VPL
Thursday, December 8th 2016
4:00 - 5:00 pm
Vancouver Public Library - Central Branch

Groundswell's unique community-based social venture program is made up of action oriented, heart-centred changemakers, creating meaningful livelihoods in the emerging, new economy. We believe everyone can contribute meaningfully to their community with value based, rewarding and sustainable work.

Among the community projects, coops, and social enterprises that came out of Groundswell's social venture program are the following:

Rebel Soup - Rescuing unique produce deemed 'unsightly' and turning them into delicious, healthy soup! Reducing food waste, one bowl of soup at a time. The Georgia Straight just featured this beautiful venture!

Wood Shop Coop - A workers' cooperative that makes quality products out of upcycled wood at a reasonable price.

Another Space - An innovative arts-based wellness studio in East Vancouver; a dedicated space for artists, wellness practitioners, and community members to express their creativity through movement, arts, crafts and community connection.

The Good Food Project - Delivering community food programming to provide the skills, tools, and support you need to make fresh and flavourful food a part of your everyday life.

Vancouver Fix-it Collective - A place where we fix vs throw away, where we build community and empower each other.

The Nettle's Guild Collective - Permaculture-inspired courses, custom garden builds and perennial nursery.

BC Centre for New Farmers - Growing farmers on 300 acres of fertile land in the Nicola Valley.

And lots more! Read about our alumni projects here.

***Applications are open for our Social Venture Programs (Full Time and Stream Program Part time) starting January 2017!***

To build this community, we offer an intensive, personal application process. Applicants must attend an Info Session or Open House event, complete an in depth (and fun!) online questionnaire, and participate in a personal interview before being considered as a candidate for the program.
