Poets Chelsea Comeau and Owain Nicholson are featured Jan. 17th at Spoken INK. Readings begin at 8:00 p.m. at the Burnaby Arts Council’s Deer Lake Gallery, 6584 Deer Lake Avenue. Open Mic to follow.

Chelsea Comeau is a freelance writer and editor whose work has appeared in The Claremont Review, Quills, CV2, and BUST magazine. In 2011, Amber Tamblyn chose her poem as the winning entry in the BUST magazine poetry contest. In 2014, she attended the Banff Centre's Writing With Style programme with Lorna Crozier, and in 2015 she was the Canadian winner of the Leaf Press chapbook contest. She attends poetry retreats twice a year with Lorna Crozier and Patrick Lane.

Owain Nicholson is an award-winning poet from the Great Canadian Prairies and the western wend of the Rocky Mountains. His writing digs unforgiving into the make of our people and our histories, the stories we live and, therefore, live by. Educated at the University of Victoria, Nicholson's first book of poetry is recently released with Nightwood Editions. His current studies pursue a masters of fine art at the University of Guelph, Toronto.
