The Migrant Workers’ Dignity Association, UBC Mexican Student Association, and the Ecuadorian Students Association at UBC are offering an opportunity to learn from temporary foreign farm workers about their living and working conditions in Canada. The April 29 event includes a Mexican feast and Latin dance party.

The Migrant Workers Dignity Association is a non-for-profit organization that advocates for the rights and dignity of temporary foreign workers in Canada. The MWDA’s particular focus is on farm workers, who represent one of the most abandoned and discriminated populations in the country. For eleven years the MWDA has worked in the front lines with thousands of farm workers in order to build a more ethical food system in B.C.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 29 at 7:00pm at the Russian Hall – 600 Campbell Avenue. Dinner is included in admission and there will be a cash-only bar. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sounds-for-justice-tickets-33674762120
