The 13th annual Music Monday, May 1, 10am at the Vancouver Art Gallery in Robson Square will unite more than 200 young musicians from across the Lower Mainland in a free public concert supporting school music programs. Led by conductor Bramwell Tovey of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the mass, student ensemble will perform the stirring new anthem Sing It Together, written by acclaimed Canadian songwriters Marc Jordan and Ian Thomas in honour of Canada’s 150th anniversary. Co-hosted by JUNO award-winning children’s musician Charlotte Diamond, Music Monday is the world’s largest single event dedicated to promoting music education.
