For our June band night and Hot Club Swing spring finale, we're beyond thrilled to welcome San Francisco's Hot Baked Goods to the stage! And because it's our final HCS before the summer, we'll be also featuring our homemade dessert buffet and sparkling punch! A tasty musical & gastronomical treat for all your dancers!

As always, we will kick off the night with our total beginner drop-in swing dance lesson--no partner and no previous dance experience necessary! The Vancouver Swing Society firmly believes that any and every body can learn to follow and/or follow, regardless of age, gender expression, ability, and any other aspect of identity. All we ask is that you choose one role (lead or follow) to learn during the lesson, and stick with it for the duration of the class. Once the lesson is over and social dancing starts, you are welcome and encouraged to follow, lead, or switch off roles as much as you like--with your partner's consent, of course!

SCHEDULE:

7:50 PM: Doors open
8-8:45 PM: Beginner Lesson
9-11:45 PM: Social dancing to live music by the Hot Baked Goods!
12:00 AM: Time for bed!

ACCESSIBILITY:

$15/person
$12/person for UBC Swing Kids and groups of 10+ people* who send their guest list to kaitlin@vanswingsociety.ca by 6pm on the day of the dance.

*Groups must take the beginner lesson and/or all arrive together to be eligible for the discount.

Hot Club Swing takes place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples, in the Dance Studio of the gorgeous Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre in Yaletown, Vancouver. The Dance Studio is located on the ground floor of the Centre, which is easily accessible from the street.

LOCATION:

The Centre is located one block from the Yaletown-Roundhouse Canada Line station, as well as other bus lines. There are bike racks outside the Centre, and a pay parkade underneath the Centre.
