For the third evening of the festival, singer-songwriter-composer Isabelle Longnus will take the stage of Studio 16 with one of the most avant-garde and innovative projects of her career. For the past 15 years, in parallel with her prolific involvement in Vancouver’s music scene, Isabelle has been writing and composing a number of erotic works under various pseudonyms. Now she will reveal an audacious concert-lecture entitled “La Ceinture de Vénus” (“The Belt of Venus”). This show is restricted to people 19 years of age and over. The show will open with Isabelle’s performance of titles from her show CODE BLEU, which, for this occasion, will be presented in sensual red.

In reaction to the hypersexualisation of our culture, Isabelle Longnus approaches eroticism from a feminist perspective on eroticism in contemporary society, inspired mainly by anecdotal experiences of women she knows. With no taboos, her exploration of the themes of desire, pleasure and orgasm is poetic, honest and candid but never vulgar. The author has worked in collaboration with Denis Ferland and Guido del Fabbro for the musical composition.
