The Festival d’été francophone de Vancouver is very pleased to mark National Aboriginal Day, for the third consecutive year, by presenting a Canadian artist with Métis roots who will perform on June 17 at Canada Place.

Pascale Goodrich-Black and La Vallée des Loups is the work of singer-songwriter-composer Pascale Goodrich-Black and musicians from several different horizons. With a father from the plains of Alberta and a mother from Quebec, Pascale evokes her Aboriginal and multicultural roots as well as Canadian landscapes with moving sincerity.

The music of Pascale Goodrich-Black and la Vallée des Loups is seductive, troubling and full of emotion, subtly blending roots, country and pop along with dark tones of rock. It projects the listener into a setting of abandoned country roads, wide open skies, as well as the melancholy of heartache. This project was carried out in close collaboration with producer, composer and guitarist Adam Popowitz (Pacifika, Tanga, Leela Gilday) and renowned percussionist Elliot Polsky (Pacifika, Lella Gilday, Jim Byrnes).
