Welcome to Vancouver: A Discussion on LGBTQ2+ Refugees
SFU Segal Graduate School of Business, 500 Granville, Vancouver Vancouver Pride Society in partnership with the Vancouver Branch of the Canadian International Council are hosting the inaugural Vancouver Pride Society LGBTQ2+ human rights panel discussion. This event will provide the Vancouver LGBTQ2+ community with an annual forum to bring together leaders within the LGBTQ2+ community, allies and government together to discuss important human rights issues impacting the community. The inaugural event will be a panel discussion on LGBTQ2+ refugees in Canada.
The event will be a panel discussion highlighting local and national non-profit organizations (Rainbow Refugee, Rainbow Railroad) that support LGBTQ2+ refugees in both Vancouver and Canada. It will also highlight the personal stories of LGBTQ2+ refugees that have made Vancouver their home and their harrowing stories of courage, strength and survival. The cost of the event will be $20 with proceeds being given to Rainbow Refugee.
