Dr. Elizabeth Loftus is one of the most influential psychologists of all time. Her work explores the fallibility of eyewitness testimony and false memories. Dr. Loftus has been an expert witness or consultant in many high profile cases, such as the Hillside Strangler, the trial of the officers accused in the Rodney King beating, the Bosnian War trials in The Hague, the Oklahoma bombing case and many celebrity cases, including those of Michael Jackson, Martha Stewart and Bill Cosby.

Dr. Loftus will be giving a talk entitled, “The Fiction of Memory,” where she will discuss her work about the reliability of memory. Using examples of cases she’s worked on, Dr. Loftus will delve into false memories, an issue that comes up in courts during witness testimony.
