On the first Thursday of each month, The Fort Gallery hosts a variety of visual artists, writers and poets, and musicians from the local community who share their gifts and creations. On August 3rd, we are pleased to welcome musician Allan McKinnon.

Allan has kept a life-long interest in playing guitar live. He particularly enjoys improvisational work and likes to mix light jazz and blues together in a soft rock and easy listening style.

Also featured at this month’s First Thursday are many of the artists from the gallery’s annual juried show. This year’s theme celebrates Canada’s 150th birthday and the notion of national identity. ic(o!)nic Canada runs July 20-August 6, 2017.
