The Argo juggernaut has continued this weekend, winning the best ensemble performance at the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Producers Guild Award.

The movie about how the CIA helped rescue U.S. hostages in Iran also won the Golden Globe for the best dramatic movie.

It's picked up these honours even though the Canadian ambassador to Iran at the time, Ken Taylor, has publicly stated that the depiction of the CIA's role was not accurate.

“The movie’s fun, it’s thrilling, it’s pertinent, it’s timely,” Taylor told the Toronto Star last year. “But look, Canada was not merely standing around watching events take place. The CIA was a junior partner.”

Ben Affleck won the Golden Globe for best director for Argo, but he wasn't nominated for an Academy Award in this category.

The best male actor at the Screen Actors Guild Awards went to Daniel Day-Lewis for his performance in Lincoln. Tommy Lee Jones was chosen for outstanding performance by a male actor in a supporting role for playing Thaddeus Stevens in the same film.

Jennifer Lawrence took the best female actor honour for Silver Linings Playbook.

Anne Hathaway, who played Fantine in Les Misérables, picked up the hardware for outstanding performance by a female actor in a supporting role.

On the small screen, Julianne Moore won for outstanding performance by a female actor in a television movie or miniseries for playing Sarah Palin in Game Change.

Kevin Costner was the winner in this category for male actors for his role as Devil Anse Hatfield in Hatfields & McCoys.

Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey both won as the best actors in a comedy series for their roles on 30 Rock.

Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) and Claire Danes (Homeland) were chosen as the best actors in a drama series.
