Tyler Perry’s Temptation is a slick piece of junk

Starring Jurnee Smollett-Bell and Lance Gross. Rated PG. Now playing

Tyler Perry likes to make movies that preach. A finger-wagging moralist, some of his personally monogrammed sermons settle for simple stupidity (anything featuring his character Madea) while others serve as overheated examples of the bad things that happen to people when they stray from God. Either way, though, you’re going to be lectured on the right way to behave.

This time around, the prolific writer, director, and producer serves up a cautionary tale of upscale seduction that plays like a soap opera sponsored by Christian Mingle. The message behind Tyler Perry’s Temptation? Fool around on your spouse and God is going to make you pay a heavy price.

Based on Perry’s play Confessions of a Marriage Counselor, Temptation is a slick piece of junk with biblical undertones. Judith (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and Brice (Lance Gross) are a happily married couple who’ve known each other since childhood. Just as Judith is starting to get a little bored with her upstanding husband and their penny-pinching lifestyle, she meets Harley (Robbie Jones), a wealthy Internet entrepreneur whose new mission in life is to seduce the innocent Judith.

As it turns out, Harley does a pretty good imitation of Satan in a tailor-made suit. Everyone seems to understand this but Judith. Her God-fearing mother—played with evangelistic zeal by Ella Joyce—warns that Harley is the devil in a Ferrari. Her boss (Vanessa Williams) tells her that she’s heading for a world of trouble. But does Judith care? Not really. She’s too busy trying on high heels, snorting coke, and having sex with Harley in the back of his Bentley.

Although the appealing cast does it’s best with Perry’s clichéd script, you can see the ending coming from a mile away. My advice? You might want to skip this one. You could spend a couple of hours just trying to be a better person. I’m sure Perry will understand.

I loved the movie! It reminded me of if you flirt with sin what can happen! Or, if you cheat what can happen! Either way, that guy was a date rapist with a terminal disease! Oops, I'm a fan! Y'all must go see!

Well l do not see the movie yet, because l'm still waiting for my DVD,but from what l have just read l believe this movie is about teaching married couples,or if you are single and you are planning to marry that would be a piece of advice so that you would not enter into a problems like that especially if you are married, for me l believe there's a lesson to learn through the message he Tyler Perry had delivered.
