VIFF 2013 review: Al Helm: Martin Luther King Jr. in Palestine
(USA)
1 of 2 2 of 2
Veteran docmaker Connie Field follows an American gospel group to Palestine and captures attempts to mount a musical play about MLK in occupied territories. Prejudices are confronted on all sides and something like a universal appreciation for key connections between art and politics emerges, if a bit worse for bullet-ridden wear.
