VIFF 2013 review: I Belong

(Norway)

One of the best of the fest, this endlessly delightful and thought-provoking character study has an ingenious framing device: as an author records the audio version of her short-story collection, the tales come to life, and not always in ways she can control. Mostly, they centre on subtle ways women jockey for power, and for understanding, with each other.
