VIFF 2013 review: Field of Amapolas

(Colombia)

    1 of 2 2 of 2

This look at a desperate father who works in Colombia’s poppy fields but tries to keep his young son out of the business, is a little too on point. The inside look at the civil war and the drug industry that plague the countryside is illuminating, but you can feel the film trying to get its message across.
