VIFF 2013 review: Willow Creek

    1 of 2 2 of 2

Against the advice of some not always friendly locals, a couple treks to the site of the legendary Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot film in the Northern California woods, and ends up encountering, well... Even director Bobcat Goldthwait says we don’t need another found footage movie, but if the genre conventions are a tad moldy, you’ll forget once the scares start to come in this lean and freaky flick. Willow Creek is a blast; effective, well acted, and made by someone who knows and respects the subject.

      Cinematheque, September 29 (2:15 p.m.) and October 7 (9:15 p.m.)
