Monty Python: The Meaning of Live (U.K.)

What does it say about you when Mick Jagger sends a message accusing you and your band of merry pranksters of being “a bunch of old men prancing about on stage, trying to relive their youths”? It says you are the surviving members of Monty Python’s Flying Circus.

It also means everyone from Stephen Hawking (hilarious) to Mike Myers (not) can show up in sketches destined to be part of a 10-night run in a giant London stadium—a show the Pythons dubbed One Down, Five To Go!

“We’ve all agreed to go in alphabetical order,” explains Terry Gilliam during the sometimes painful rehearsals emphasized here. “So that means Cleese is next!”
