Randy Quaid wasn't been star-whacked, but he has been taken into custody in Vermont after trying to enter the United States from Canada.

The Independence Day star is wanted in California on charges of vandalism.

It's in connection with squatting in a home that he used to own.

Quaid and his wife Evi came to Vancouver in 2010 to escape the charges, only to be arrested in our town.

They tried to claim refugee status, arguing that they were being targeted in a murder conspiracy by "Hollywood star whackers".

Quaid alleged that as part of the plot, actors David Carradine and Heath Ledger were murdered.

It turned out that Evi could obtain Canadian citizenship because her dad was born in Canada. Quaid then made a fruitless attempt to obtain permanent residency.

While in Vancouver, they made a film called Star Whackers and part of it was shown at the Rio Theatre. It alleged that Hollywood movie stars "are worth more dead than alive due to lucrative ad revenue" on the Internet.

More recently, they created a video featuring (or simulating) Quaid sodomizing Evi as she wore a Rupert Murdoch mask. As he was doing this, Quaid alleged in the video that the New York Post, which is owned by Murdoch's News Corp., was smearing him.

Today, the New York Daily News reported that Quaid is "expected to be arraigned on Monday in Vermont on a fugitive from justice charge".
