Whistler Film Festival 2015: Kiefer Sutherland, Robert Carlyle to be honoured

      This year's festival will celebrate two stars who have developed an extensive body of work over the course of their careers.

      British-born Canadian actor, producer, and director Kiefer Sutherland will receive the Trailerblazer in Acting award at an event on December 4.

      It'll be followed with a screening of his film Forsaken, in which he stars with his father Donald Sutherland and Demi Moore.

      Sutherland's credits include films such as Stand By Me, Young Guns, Flatliners, A Few Good Men, The Lost Boys, Melancholia, and Pompeii. He has more recently been known as the star of the TV series 24.

      Meanwhile, Scottish actor Robert Carlyle will be honoured with the WFF 2015 Maverick Award on December 5.

      Carlyle has starred in films such as Trainspotting, The World Is Not Enough, Angela's Ashes, 28 Weeks Later. He won a best actor BAFTA award for The Full Monty.

      Incidentally, he also co-starred with Sutherland in the TV movie 24: Redemption.

      His directorial debut, The Legend of Barney Thomson, will have its North American premiere at the festival on the same day.

      The 15th annual edition of the festival will be held from December 2 to 6.
