Sometimes the best way to understand a monumental tragedy is to boil things down to simple language that everyone can understand.

On that front, thank you John Oliver. On the Sunday episode of his HBO series Last Week Tonight, the British comedian and former The Daily Show correspondent starts out by acknowleding that much remains to be learned about Friday's terrorist attacks.

He then breaks down who was responsible for those attacks. Never mind dignifying them with terms like "members of ISIS" or "radicalized Muslims". 

Instead, Oliver chooses a more pointed description: "Giant fucking assholes." And that's just the start of a profanity-laced rant.
