      The Leo Awards have always done things a little bit differently, and this year is no exception. While the usual awards ceremony fare—like red-carpet gladhanding—will be part of the celebration, the 2016 version of the awards will take place over three days, on May 28, and June 4 and 5.

      The top prize for Best Picture is an eight-way fight featuring Meadowland, starring Olivia Wilde and Luke Wilson as a husband and wife who go off the rails in different directions;

      Numb, about a couple that embarks on a journey for stolen gold through a vast winter tundra;

      She Who Must Burn, a thriller concerning a woman who refuses to leave her planned-parenthood clinic after it's shut down, and the family of evangelists who don’t handle the news well;

      The Birdwatcher, about a single mother diagnosed with cancer who goes on a quest to find her birth mother;

      The Confirmation, a romantic comedy starring Clive Owen;

      Tumbledown, with Rebecca Hall as a folk singer’s widow who can’t move on;

      White Raven, about four men on an annual camping trip that goes awry;

      and The Devout, a drama about reincarnation which leads the pack with 14 nominations overall.

      The first presentation next Saturday, May 28, will dole out mostly editing and visual effects  awards and will be hosted by actresses Kalyn Miles and Veena Sood, while the second gathering on June 4 will focus on awards for documentaries and animated/children’s programs. The rest of the awards will be handed out on Sunday, June 5, in a gala ceremony hosted by Zak Santiago.

      All events take place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
