Watch gorgeous NFB short "Debris" (and a lot more besides) for free

The NFB has made over 60 films available for the low, low price of absolutely nothing over at its website.

Among the B.C.-oriented fare is Anne Wheeler's "Chi", in which the acclaimed filmmaker follows Vancouver's much-missed Babz Chula on an ultimately unsuccesful trip to an Ayurvedic healer in Kerala, India. Vic Sarin's A Matter of Colour is a film-essay on the delicate subject of skin tone, while Emily Carr is one of the three subjects (along Georgia O’Keeffe and Frida Kahlo) eulogized in the Emmy-nominated "Bone Wind Fire", from Victoria-based Jill Sharpe.

Menwhile, the Straight is excited to host the 14-minute short "Debris", a thoughtful piece of filmmaking about the Fukushima memorial crafted by Tofino artist Pete Clarkson, directed by our old friend John (Aim for the Roses) Bolton.

      Enjoy!

Debris, John Bolton, National Film Board of Canada
