La La Land has cleaned up at the Golden Globe Awards, winning best motion picture—musical or comedy along with six other statues.

The film's stars, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, were honoured by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association as best actor and best actress in a motion picture—musical or comedy.

La La Land director Damien Chazelle won awards for best director and best screenplay. And Justin Hurwitz won for best original song and best original score for his work in La La Land.

The musical about star-crossed lovers in Los Angeles won in every category for which it was nominated.

Prior to going into general release, La La Land was screened at the Whistler and Toronto film festivals.
