It's impossible not to be charmed by Think Like a Man's cast

Hmm. Er, just reading Steve Harvey’s advice book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, and pretty sure I’m both a “sports fish” and a “chirp chirp girl”. That means men look at me as a prize (cough) to show off to their friends, and I also get in the car when I hear the “chirp chirp” of the fob thingy without waiting for my, ahem, date to physically open my door for me. Damn. Can’t help natural, effervescent “sports fish” allure, but must repress “chirp chirp” tendencies.

Where was I? Right. In the romantic comedy Think Like a Man, the guys are busy being self-centred, happy horndogs. The women are sneakily getting the horndogs to marry them, open car doors for them, and, importantly, have long-term goals. This is because the women (including Meagan Good, Gabrielle Union, and Taraji P. Henson) have been reading real-life TV/radio/standup guy Harvey’s real-life book. The guys (including Michael Ealy, Jerry Ferrara, and Romany Malco) are given labels like “the player”, “the mama’s boy”, and “the noncommitter”. The guys must be brought down, or at least made to realize that discussing goals over coffee is better than sex.

Stopping people from being self-centred, happy horndogs is, of course, morally wrong. Despite this, it’s impossible not to be charmed by the ridiculously good-looking and likable, mostly African American, cast. Somehow they, along with director Tim Story (Barbershop) and writers Keith Merryman and David A. Newman, make Think Like a Man kind of appealing—as much as a movie based on a weirdo, shamelessly devious self-help book can be.

And now, the big question we chicks must ask each other (in our sister-solidarity quest to “get the ring”) is: did you “keep the cookie in the cookie jar”? Did you?

Very good cast and sounds kinda funny, I will probably catch it. But what did you think of the message, as a girl? I mean, is the cookie what men are buying with the ring? Don't cookies come by the second or third date?

Seems to me that the reason to commit is because of other things than the cookie. You get tired of cookies or at least less avid for them over time. Or you might want a different flavour cookie. However, you will always want to be with your best friend.
