Into the Abyss
Cave of Forgotten Dreams director Werner Herzog’s documentary shines an unnerving spotlight on capital punishment, and follows Michael Perry and Jason Burkett, two inmates serving time in Texas prison for a triple homicide.

The Iron Lady
In an Oscar-winning role, Meryl Streep plays former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher in Mamma Mia! director Phyllida Lloyd’s biopic. The Iron Lady also stars Another Year’s Jim Broadbent as Thatcher’s husband, Denis.

Miss Representation
In the Valley of Elah actor Jennifer Siebel Newson goes behind the camera for her first documentary, which explores the ways in which women are portrayed in the media. Miss Representation features comedian Margaret Cho, journalists Katie Couric and Lisa Ling, and actors Geena Davis and Rosario Dawson, among others.

One Life
Daniel Craig narrates directors Michael Gunton and Martha Holmes’ documentary for BBC Earth Films, which looks at the cyclical journey of living creatures, from birth to having their own offspring.

Sleeping Beauty
In writer-director Julia Leigh’s first feature film, university student Lucy (Sucker Punch’s Emily Browning) takes a job where she provides erotic services for older male clients while she lies asleep in bed.
