American Horror Story: The Complete First Season
This FX horror television series follows a family who moves into a haunted Los Angeles mansion. The large ensemble cast includes Jessica Lange, The Messengers’ Dylan McDermott, 127 Hours’ Kate Mara, and Friday Night Lights’ Connie Britton.

Marvel’s The Avengers
Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon directs this Marvel superheroes orgy, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye. Even if sci-fi action flicks aren’t really your thing, The Avengers gives audiences the chance to eye some of Hollywood’s buffest stars in skintight suits for two hours.

The Samaritan
Samuel L. Jackson stars in this grimy thriller about a former grifter named Foley who has just been released from prison after serving 25 years. Hoping to making a new life for himself, he meets a mysterious, young woman; however, Foley’s past continues to come back to haunt him.

Surviving Progress
Based on Canadian author Ronald Wright’s book, A Short History of Progress, this documentary film features activists, authors, and intellectuals—including Stephen Hawking, David Suzuki, Jane Goodall, and Margaret Atwood—discussing the depressing relationship between civilizations and the planet.

Take This Waltz
In Canadian director Sarah Polley’s Take This Waltz, Margot (Michelle Williams) begins to question her marriage to Lou (Seth Rogen) after she meets her brooding artist neighbour Daniel (Luke Kirby).
