Tamara Taggart to interview Zellweger, Rivera on LIVE! With Regis and Kelly

This Friday (August 21), CTV British Columbia weathercaster Tamara Taggart will be sitting and chatting with Regis Philbin as a guest host of LIVE! With Regis and Kelly (which airs Monday to Friday at 9 a.m., local time).

Earlier this month, Taggart was selected during LIVE’s Local to LIVE Co-Host for a Day Search as one of the five women to fill in for Kelly Rippa.

Taggart is the only Canadian to have reached the coveted spot, after an extensive North American search that began on June 26 and saw thousands of hopefuls apply.

Guests slated to be interviewed on the August 21 taping are actor Renée Zellweger, who will talk about her latest film My One and Only, and journalist and author Geraldo Rivera, who will chat about his new book The Great Progression: How Hispanics Will Lead America to a New Era of Prosperity.

Taggart, who has been getting ready for her New York City debut, remarked on Twitter yesterday that she was “laying in bed reading Geraldo’s new book. I’m on page 11, there’s 258 pages.”

In an interview with CTV, Taggart said that this will be her first trip to the Big Apple. Visiting NYC is a memorable venture for anyone, but add to it the opportunity of a lifetime and Taggart may just not want to come back.
