Shu Qi (right) is one of the stars in renowned director Hou Hsiao-hsien’s con- tribution to a giant omnibus of five-minute films from Taiwan called 10 + 10.
Not everyone in this giant omnibus of five-minute films from Taiwan’s directorial community is a beginner (Hou Hsiao-hsien is one of the contributors), and much of the material is universal (a couple of mini thrillers plus a condensed war movie). There are also a number of entries, such as the one dealing with the Taiwanese flag, that are aimed squarely at insiders. Still, there’s plenty of good stuff for outsiders as well.
