VIFF 2012 Review: Everybody in Our Family
A nebbishy dental technician means well when he tries to take his almost-estranged five-year-old daughter on a beach vacation. But since this hot-tempered tale turns out to be about the inability of Romanian men to grow up and how women treat them like children, this overly aggressive farce just ends up more annoyingly reductive than anything else. The title answers a child’s question about who gets into heaven, and it’s meant ironically—we hope.
