VIFF 2012 Review: Long Live the Family!
The family here isn’t just a guy on the run with his baffled wife and daughter. A mid-level teacher turned banker stands in for small countries caught up in new tides of Euro-corruption, as well as the more old-fashioned varieties, which include drinking all night and lying to your spouse. During this quietly desperate road trip, there are passing references to Czech history—which is one of being forever trampled by more sweeping forces and having to deploy mordant humour as a last defence.
