Jem Cohen makes dark, quirky meditations on art and modern life, but now he has assembled a delightfully accessible work. Nonpro actor Bobby Sommer (actually a film programmer) plays a veteran guard at Vienna’s richest museum. His internal observations—especially vivid in the Brueghel Room—get amplified on several levels when he helps a visiting Canadian woman (cult singer Mary Margaret O’Hara) going through grievous ruminations of her own. Neither farce nor tragedy, the movie is filled with gently moving wit.
