Apollo Ghosts say farewell
One of Vancouver’s best live acts will call it a day when Apollo Ghosts play their final show at the Rickshaw Theatre on May 10. “There has never really been an agenda or plan with Apollo Ghosts,” singer-guitarist Adrian Teacher told the Straight. “To me, it’s always felt like a fun art project. It just seems natural at this point in time to walk away from the canvas.”
The Ghosts have been active since 2008 and released three LPs. During recent shows, they’ve performed with a dual-bass setup, but Teacher noted that the final gig will probably feature a more standard two-guitar approach. “I’m really excited because some friends are flying in from other places to see us,” the frontman added. “After the show, I’ll pack up the Subaru, go home and walk my dog, then have a beer and fall asleep. There will probably be a few tears in there somewhere too.”
