No word on a Vancouver stop for the Rolling Stones "50 and Counting" tour

The Rolling Stones have officially announced a 50th anniversary tour for North America.

Vancouver is not on the list.

In a video published today on YouTube, Mick, Keith, Ronnie, and Charlie (none of whom were actually in the same room with each other of course) chat about getting the band back together, and anticipation for the tour, dubbed “50 and Counting.”

The Stones played New York and London in 2012 but have not toured the United States or Canada since the “Bigger Bang” outing wrapped up its North American leg in 2006.

For aficionados of the Stones' classic works, the most exciting part of the announcement is likely the band’s enlistment of a certain “special guest,” none other than Mick Taylor.

The legendary guitarist is arguably the most talented ex-member of the Stones (with apologies to Brian fans). Taylor’s licks appear on a number of the group’s best-loved albums, including Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, and Exile on Main St. He left the Stones to pursue solo projects in 1974.

The “50 and Counting” tour will kick off at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in early May. Here are the dates confirmed so far:

      • TBA – Los Angeles
      • May 5 – Oakland
      • May 8 – San Jose
      • May 11 – Las Vegas
      • May 15 – Anaheim
      • May 25 – Toronto
      • May 28 – Chicago
      • June 12 – Boston
      • June 18 – Philadelphia
      • July 6 – London

It’s rumoured there could be as many as another eight shows still to be announced, although there’s no word yet on whether those gigs would see the Stones travel to additional locations, or play a second night at some of the cities with stops already confirmed.

For Vancouver residents willing to travel, tickets for the Toronto, Oakland, and San Jose shows go on sale Monday (April 8) at 10:00 a.m. local time.

If you want to travel for this, Oakland and Vegas are cheaper airfares than to Toronto--especially if you fly out of Bellingham

Mick Jagger is such an elitist, old-school turd. I wouldn't spend a dime on this rotter.
