Photos: Jason Kenney and hundreds of young women greet Chinese pop stars at Aberdeen Centre
Late yesterday, pandemonium broke out at a Richmond shopping mall when five singers and teen idols descended down the escalator.
Hundreds of young women had been awaiting the appearance of the pop stars—Aaron Yan, Will Pan, Yisa Yu, Lala Hsu, and Hu Xia—who are in town for the Global Chinese Golden Chart North American Concert.
Also in attendance at Aberdeen Centre was Citizenship and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney, who had flown out from Ottawa to give certificates of appreciation to the performers.
The concert is sponsored by seven Chinese radio stations, including Vancouver-based Fairchild.
Last year, the concert was held in Beijing, and the previous year it was in Taipei.
Tonight's show will be at the Centre in Vancouver for the Performing Arts.
The headliner, Taiwanese pop diva Jolin Tsai, was not in attendance at the Aberdeen Centre, but she's expected to take the stage tonight.

Here is Jason Kenny making an appearance with the 'right type' of immigrants - the ones who are very wealthy and conservative.

Proving that all teenage girls, regardless of race, have the capacity to be squealing, vapid bags of hormones with terrible taste in music.
