Taylor Swift at B.C. Place

There’s a very good case to be made that Taylor Swift isn’t entirely human.

As she rounds out her first decade of being a legitimate superstar, the 25-year-old has yet to show she’s anything less than a modern-day superwoman. There have been no sex-tape scandals, no trips to rehab, and no embracing her inner Mr. Clean and attacking SUVs with an umbrella. Instead, Swift keeps roaring along, hosting Saturday Night Live, smoothly transitioning from country queen to pop princess with songs like “Shake It Off”, and even successfully taking on Apple on behalf of starving artists across the continent.

Swift’s reward for all this is something not even the worst Internet troll would begrudge her: headlining mega-stadiums like B.C. Place, which she plays on Saturday (August 1) as part of her 1989 World Tour. And yes, America’s sweetheart is well aware that it’s 2015, not 1989.

For those up on their trivia, 1989 happens to be the year she was born, said birth providing some ammunition for the argument that she actually is—despite all appearances to the contrary—human.
