There are few bands in Vancouver more appropriate than Legs to schedule two days ahead of Devil’s Night. Expect a bit of black magic to flow through the Media Club when Allie Sheldan takes the stage flanked by brothers Michael and Chris Weiss on Monday (October 28). The Vancouver trio’s quick gig at the Cobalt last August was something like a desert séance, and with Pretty Dead Productions supplying haunting visuals for this show, it wouldn’t be unwise to attend with a pentagram in your back pocket. “We may even sacrifice a goat!” teases (teases?) a message on the event’s Facebook page. Whether Sheldan spills the blood of an animal or not, Legs’ minimalist surf-grunge guitars and crescendos that approach the edge of madness promise to make for an enchanted evening. “We wanted it to be like losing your mind and that feeling of being totally fucking crazy,” Sheldan told the Straight earlier this year. “Hopefully that works.”
