Mad Decent Block Party at the PNE Amphitheatre

Here’s what smart people do on long weekends, especially the last one of the summer: they stay the hell in town. Who wants to end up stuck in a car drinking their own urine in a four-hour border lineup at Peace Arch, or spend Friday night caught in Surrey-to-Abbotsford bumper-to-bumper traffic on Highway 1?

The best thing about being in town is that you’ll be able to catch this year’s always beyond-decent Mad Decent Block Party, at the PNE Amphitheatre on Sunday (September 6). The lineup includes Major Lazer, Dillon Francis, Netsky, Grandtheft, Party Favor, Humans, and Lunice, which is a tip-off that you won’t be standing around navel-gazing while discussing the latest indie-rock release on Asthmatic Kitty. And while all ages are welcome, there’s also a 19-plus area, complete with VIP option. The latter, we might offer, is almost as much of a no-brainer as hitting the Mad Decent Block Party this week, even if it means cancelling those camping plans at Cultus Lake.

Hey, didn't someone die at the event yesterday?
