Punk rock and songs about the most sacred of the seasons normally go together about as well as eggnog and Ardbeg whisky. What a pleasant surprise, then, that Bad Religion manages to not embarrass itself with a collection that will give the Warped Tour disciple on your list a break from Burl and Bing. It doesn’t all work, mostly because no one is going to pull off a spit-and-spikes version of “White Christmas”. But from a harmony-drenched “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” to a bruising “Little Drummer Boy”, enough hits the mark to convince you that Santa would look good in a black-leather jacket and a ripped Germs T-shirt, with the dog-collar optional.
