Few things in this world are more offensive than a country artist who drives around town in a red 2008 Lincoln Mark LT and yet sings with inflections that suggest his favoured mode of transportation is Little Joe’s horse stabled somewhere on the Ponderosa ranch. As a result, there’s something about baritone-voiced Trace Adkins’s “down-home” country carols that sounds more fake than Kenny Rogers’s face and Kellie Pickler’s hooters.
