My Favourite Thing is a video feature where the Georgia Straight gets interesting folks from around town to list off, among other things, their favourite performers, live gigs, and singers. And, of course, their favourite thing.

Don't be fooled by the sounds of local country-roots rockers the Sumner Brothers: though their tunes might be tinged with hillbilly twang, their musical favourites span multiple genres. Brothers Bob and Brian sat down with the Straight earlier this week to tell us which singers and performers top their list... and of course, their favourite thing.

Their latest album, The Hell in Your Mind, was released in September, and features eight tracks. Dark and stirring tracks like "Ant Song" are balanced with the rock 'n' roll balladry on "I'm Not Ready", while "My Dearest Friends" provides a little acoustic slow-down. Check it out here. 

The Sumner Brothers will host their 10th annual Christmas show at the Rickshaw Theatre (254 East Hastings) on December 19.
