My Favourite Thing: Ajaye Jardine

    1 of 2 2 of 2

My Favourite Thing is a video feature where the Georgia Straight gets interesting folks from around town to list off, among other things, their favourite performers, live gigs, and singers. And, of course, their favourite thing.

Breakout country artist Ajaye Jardine is no newbie to Vancouver's music scene: after releasing two LPs as half of the country-pop duo The Jardines since 2010, this Canadian girl-next-door has been in hot pursuit of a career as a solo artist, writing original material and most recently recording an EP in Nashville last spring. We caught up with Jardine in Richmond to talk about some of her musical favourites. Find out what they are, and more, in this video.

As a top 10 finalist in the Breakthrough Country Music Project (sponsored by the Straight), Jardine will hit the stage at the Roxy on January 17 for her second showcase. Catch her 45-minute set, starting at 8 p.m.
