Tonight's best bets include Pokey LaFarge at the Imperial

St. Louis songwriter and guitarist Pokey Lafarge has become a celebrity in Europe and North America over the past decade, with a string of great albums that imaginatively juggle, blues, ragtime, country, jazz, western swing, vaudeville, bluegrass, and old-timefiddle/banjo tunes.

Lafarge’s original and catchy songs, rooted in St. Louis of the ’20s and ’30s era, are sharply etched cameos of life, brimming with wit and sly humour. Lafarge and his band the South City Three perform at the Imperial Theatre this Thursday (May 5).
