Hall Pass is for you if you like free music, cheap beer, and complimentary shuttle service

You know what people like? That would be things that are free, an added bonus being when dirt-cheap beer, food trucks, and name-brand local music are thrown into the mix.

With that in mind, how does a veritable smorgasbord of 10 great Vancouver indie bands sound for, um, zero dollars?

Hall Pass bills itself as a “free monthly music festival, featuring Vancouver's most talented emerging artists." Its mission is to "pay sustainable living wages to indie bands through community backed FREE shows.”

May’s edition takes place tomorrow (May 29) at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds, which, admittedly, sounds like a haul if you live in, say, Strathcona, Kerrisdale, or the brand spanking-new ghost town known as Dunbar.

Well aware that some of us can’t find our own asses without our iPhone Map app, Hall Pass offers free shuttle service from the Surry Skytrain Station.

Once you are on-site food trucks will be waiting, and beers will be $5 per can ($6 if craft brews are your thing.)

As for the lineup, expect full sets, starting at 12:30 p.m., from (in alphabetical order): Actors, Catlow, Dan Moxon, Eric Campbell and The Dirt, the Faceplants, Fashionism, Louise Burns, No Sinner, the Prettys, and Star Captains.
