For the benefit of those who have been asleep for the past half-decade or so, there is generally perceived to be something of a rivalry between pop-music titans Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. Each is known to possess a sometimes-outrageous fashion sense, to say nothing of an ability to craft the sort of earworms that will take up permanent residence in your brain.

With Gaga’s artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball still fresh in the minds of Vancouver pop fans, Perry’s own Prismatic World Tour will pull into Rogers Arena on Tuesday and Wednesday (September 9 and 10). In addition to costume changes at a rate of roughly one per song, attendees can expect to see the megastar on-stage astride a mechanical horse, toot along in an inflatable car, and play a stripped-down acoustic mini set, before ending the show in a burst of fireworks. In short, it sounds like exactly the sort of spectacle Gaga would stage.
