Dan Tepfer: More interesting than you are

Take one classically trained pianist, add a lifelong love for improvisation, and throw in a bachelor’s degree in astrophysics, and what you end up with is Dan Tepfer. The Paris-based musician and composer will be at Christ Church Cathedral on Tuesday (August 2), playing J.S. Bach’s Goldberg Variations. He will also—move over, Glenn Gould!—perform his own improvised takes on Bach’s iconic works. What does astrophysics have to do with any of this? Not much, but it does suggest that Tepfer would be a really interesting dude to have a conversation with.
