Classic local garage rockers the Enigmas are back again. Following a DVD release party in January, the ‘80-vintage band is reconvening for a gig at the Imperial on Saturday (November 15). Answering the Straight ’s phone call, guitarist Mike Davies explained this latest show was planned to meet the demand following the band’s previous appearance. “We sold out the WISE Hall, and there was a bunch of people who were pretty disappointed they didn’t get in, so we said, ‘Let’s do one more,’ ” he said.

Davies described the Enigmas as a “brotherhood” and enthused about their musical chemistry. And while he said that he and his bandmates hope to play together again in the future, he added wryly, “You’d better come to the show, because you never know. We’re not getting any younger.” The lineup also includes original members Paul McKenzie (vocals-sax) and Randy Bowman (drums), although bassist Brian Olinek has since been replaced by Stephen Hamm (Slow, the Evaporators). The Shit Talkers and the Tranzmitors round out the bill.
