      Home for the Holidays

Bringing the same cutting edge to his solo career that made Hootie & the Blowfish such a thrill ride, Darius Rucker covers exactly what you’d expect him to on his first Christmas album (“Winter Wonderland”, “Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow”, among others, along with that freshly controversial “favourite” “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” featuring Sheryl Crow.) Needless to say, this is as white as your Christmas will ever get, although the album’s big draw is the Rucker original, “What God Wants for Christmas”. Not sure how a limp-dick ballad is any less disappointing to God than another pair of Argyle socks, but there you go.
