The Xmas-Men are actually Robert Earl Keen’s backing band, taking a seasonal detour without the Texan singer-songwriter. These rootsy takes on all the usual suspects are impeccably played without being Nashville-slick, and are mercifully nonhokey. Bonus points for mashing up “The Little Drummer Boy” with Vince Guaraldi’s “Linus and Lucy”.
