      Meet the Vamps (Christmas Edition)

As much as the Vamps’ boy-band status makes them instantly hateable to any nonfemale over the age of 13, Meet the Vamps (Christmas Edition) isn’t nearly as rancid as it sounds. For a start, the prefab British pop group’s versions of “Jingle Bell Rock” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” are inarguably organic-sounding, emphasizing real guitars and drums. Not only that, they have the good taste to throw Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” into the mix. On the downside, once the Christmas treats are over the rest of the album consists of the already released Meet the Vamps, which is entirely hateable to anyone nonfemale and over the age of 13.
