Canadian soprano Brueggergosman is that rare classical performer who can tackle pop fare without sounding like she’d rather be singing Turandot, or like she’s bringing all of her technique to bear on material that doesn’t require it—sort of like carving your Christmas turkey with a Husqvarna 365 X-Torq. Arranger Aaron Davis put a little too much effort into freshening up the old chestnuts, but Brueggergosman handles the twists and turns with the grace of the Sugar Plum Fairy herself.
